Broken Arm, Schmoken Arm!

Boy am I tired of this broken arm.  I still have the soft cast on......but.....tomorrow (cross your fingers) I get my hard cast and I don't have to hear so many, "stop that, don't do that, put that down, don't run, don't play, on and on and on".You can tell school is getting ready to start again, Mommy and Daddy are rushing around, and during the week we are not doing much, but the wk-ends are still pretty cool.
Saturday Daddy was in a fishing tournament and Mommy and Caroline and I went to the:

We got to play the instuments when it was done.  I got to play the bass and the drums.  Caroline got to play some too.

We all took naps and went to an awesome cookout and met Daddy there.  Mr. Brian and Mrs. Carrie had 15 families to their house (they must be crazy, I wouldn't want all those people playing with my toys) :).  I really liked the cookout and seeing all my friends.  It was hard not to play with everyone...I had to color.
Daddy caught the big fish of the tournament but it was not the right kind of fish to win.  Sunday we got up and went to church.  During the offering, Mommy looked at Daddy for some money to put in the plate because Daddy usually gives us all some money to put in the plate.  Daddy's wallet got wet yesterday so he didn't have it.  When the usher came by to hand us the plate to passs down our row, I loudly but politely said, "WE DONT HAVE ANY  MONEY" and motioned for him to move on.  Mommy thought this was very funny.
Hey Mr. Tyson, Look at this.
You and Mr. Joe should have come fishing :)

Sunday we went up to the farm to play and spend the night before I get my cast.  We went fishing and out to dinner.  I caught my first fish all by myself.  Daddy usually helps in one way or another, but I set the hook, reeled him in, and pulled him up on the bank.
No I didn't cast..."I got a broken arm dude!"  I got a new rod and reel.  The rod was my Daddy's first rod, but the reel is new.

Can't wait for tomorrow.  Thats all for now,
Me & The Monkey
The rod in this picture was given to my Daddy in 1974 or 5 by his Grandfather.  It is a new reel.  It was Daddy's first rod, and I caught my very first "all by myself fish" on it too.  By the way...thats a pretty nice bass don't ya think?

  1. MD- I love love love your fishing pictures. We have tried fishing a few times but we are not very good at it. Actually, there is a lot of squealing and cringing when the fish comes up on the line. The concert looks like it was fun, your mom and dad always have such great ideas! Thanks for sharing your weekend with us! See ya soon!
