Sheets Gap

This week I went to Sheets Gap. We stayed in our church friends cabin. It was tons of fun. After we got settled in I went inside grabbed a root beer and helped my church friends build up a leaf pile. Then we took a walk to a graveyard and played hide and seek tag. Then we walked back. After that we went to the cabin and hid so when the rest of our friends came we would scare them but we didn’t scare anybody. After that we went and set up our tent and went to a vine swing and swung but then one of the adults went on and the vine broke! Then all of the girls wanted to share a tent so we set up another tent and then we were called up to take a picture and if we took a good picture and paid attention then we would get a candy corn and I was the first won to get one!
After that everybody got their sleeping bags and moved them into the bigger tent. After that we went to dinner I had mac and cheese and a hot dog and some tortilla chips.
Then we went outside and made smores. I ate three it tasted so good! After smores we got in our nightgowns and went down to the tent. First, two of my church friends left then another one did and that left me alone in the tent so when I woke up I went to sleep with my mom and my sister.
Then next morning we woke up and I went upstairs and played with some of my friends. Then we ate breakfast and went outside to find parts of my tent that had blown away. Then we packed up and left.

Hanging Rock

One morning my family got up really early and got in the car and drove to Hanging Rock.  The first thing we did when we got there was we went down to a lake.  It was more like a tremendous swimming pool.  The water was perfectly clear and there was a diving board, a deep end, and a shallow end.  It also had a huge dock with a lifeguard stand.  It was so cool, but sadly we didn’t bring our bathing suits.
After that we went to a ranger center we looked at some cool badges and got enough for 4 people.

Then we went across the road and on a trail.  The trail was long and tiring but

when we got to the top it was scary and breathtaking!  After that we took a

picture of me and my sister Caroline.  Then one of all 4 of us, and then a

picture of our feet in front of the beautiful mountains.

On our way we saw a black snake! We followed it a little ways into the woods but then we let it go away.  After that we hiked the rest of the way back and we were happy because we didn’t have to hike uphill a second time!
