Kindergarten

Kindergarten is German and literally means Children's Garden.  My first day was this week.  I went to open house and found out one of my best friends was in my class.  I went and played at her house today.  We had fun.  I also met some new friends.  One with glasses just like me.  I won't put their names or pictures on here until I find out if it's OK with their parents.  My teachers are very nice.
Check out the cool hat we made on the first day
This is a picture of Ani and I on our first day.

We also visited Ms. R.  (One of Mom's best friends)She got a new puppy and we got to meet her.  She is sooo cute.
Having a broken arm has not been so hard so far.  It takes a little more time to get dressed and a little more time to eat.  Today we had a cowboy sandwich for breakfast.  In my next post, I'll give you the secret recipe.  My Dad says that Granny (my great grandmother) made the best cowboy sandwiches ever!!!!

Moser & Gallisdorfer

I finally got my cast.  It's white so I can color it, but the day started off soooo much cooler.  First of all, when we were leaving the farm, we spotted some turkeys in the field, so we went to talk to them.

If you listen closely in the first video you can hear them talking back, AND you can hear Caroline clucking in the background Then we went to McDonalds for breakfast.  Someone tried to open the drive through early.
We finally got to the Dr's office, but they had quite a few emergencies to get through first.  When I went back they unwrapped my arm.  I couldn't move it very well.  Dad said the muscles had kind of gone to sleep and that when I got the cast off we would have to wake them back up.
They xrayed it to make sure it was OK, then they washed it and put some lotion on it and put a soft cloth sock on it before molding the cast.  It was easy and it didn't hurt

This is a picture of the hospital where I went when I first broke my arm.  They were very, very nice.

On Tuesday I started out with a shower.  Mrs. Summer gave us this cool contraption that fits over your cast and keeps it dry.  Thank you Mrs. Summer.

Today also included a dentist visit to fill a cavity.  This Was really no big deal.  Mom and Dad were really worried, but Dr. Moser was awesome.  I didn't even feel a thing.  I go to:

Boy am I tired of this broken arm.  I still have the soft cast on......but.....tomorrow (cross your fingers) I get my hard cast and I don't have to hear so many, "stop that, don't do that, put that down, don't run, don't play, on and on and on".You can tell school is getting ready to start again, Mommy and Daddy are rushing around, and during the week we are not doing much, but the wk-ends are still pretty cool.

By the way, the above information is written and photographed by the symphony people not us.  Here is their web site:  http://csmf.carolinachambersymphony.org/index.html
We got to play the instuments when it was done.  I got to play the bass and the drums.  Caroline got to play some too.

We all took naps and went to an awesome cookout and met Daddy there.  Mr. Brian and Mrs. Carrie had 15 families to their house (they must be crazy, I wouldn't want all those people playing with my toys) :).  I really liked the cookout and seeing all my friends.  It was hard not to play with everyone...I had to color.
Daddy caught the big fish of the tournament but it was not the right kind of fish to win.  Sunday we got up and went to church.  During the offering, Mommy looked at Daddy for some money to put in the plate because Daddy usually gives us all some money to put in the plate.  Daddy's wallet got wet yesterday so he didn't have it.  When the usher came by to hand us the plate to passs down our row, I loudly but politely said, "WE DONT HAVE ANY  MONEY" and motioned for him to move on.  Mommy thought this was very funny.
Hey Mr. Tyson, Look at this.
You and Mr. Joe should have come fishing :)

Sunday we went up to the farm to play and spend the night before I get my cast.  We went fishing and out to dinner.  I caught my first fish all by myself.  Daddy usually helps in one way or another, but I set the hook, reeled him in, and pulled him up on the bank.
No I didn't cast..."I got a broken arm dude!"  I got a new rod and reel.  The rod was my Daddy's first rod, but the reel is new.

Can't wait for tomorrow.  Thats all for now,
Me & The Monkey
The rod in this picture was given to my Daddy in 1974 or 5 by his Grandfather.  It is a new reel.  It was Daddy's first rod, and I caught my very first "all by myself fish" on it too.  By the way...thats a pretty nice bass don't ya think?

My Favorite Recipe from allrecipes.com

Tuesday moring started off good.  Dad made everyone pancakes.  Pancakes are my favorite food...besides chocolate ice cream.  My favorite recipe is from: http://allrecipes.com/Recipes/main.aspx
We look for recipes that have a bazillion positive reviews.  This one is: http://allrecipes.com/recipe/fluffy-pancakes-2/detail.aspx .
My Dad started trying to make them faster and easier in a blender and then Uncle Joel reminded him that pancake batter isn't supposed to be without little lumps of butter or flavor.  Uncle Joel said to use a whisk and don't over do it.

The day before my sister arrived, we made pancakes.
After my nap Mama and I made dinner and I colored some thank you notes.

Thats all for now.

Oh yeah, did I mention we fish?..a lot!  Look how big this bass is.

North Carolina Zoo

OK,
So Sunday and Monday were awesome.  Sunday I went to my cousin's baptism.  She was very happy.  She didn't cry when they splashed water on her head.  She kept trying to play with the book on the alter that the church gave her.  My aunt and uncle looked very pretty.  Then we went to lunch at Ms. Deborah's.  It was yummy.  We went home to take a nap.  Daddy went fishing.  While he was gone there was a storm and our power went out.  Me and Caroline read books with Mom by using a flashlight.
Douglas' Cousins are soooooo crazy

The next morning we got up and went to the North Carolina Zoo with the family and Mema.  My favorite animal was the Giraffe, but we had fun with the monkeys too.  Caroline fell asleep.  We got to ride the carousel, and the tram.  I got to visit with Douglas' family too.

I attached a link to the zoo and their upcoming events.  I hope my whole family will be able to go to BOO at the Zoo like  we did last year.

Getting Better

Hi, Douglas says “Hi” too.
Reynolda House With Momma and Caroline
After my doctors appointment on Thursday we went and picked up my cousin Ani at my Uncles law office.  (If you ever need help in North Carolina you can call my uncle 336 838-1111)  I said hey to everyone at the office, Sally, Sharon, Nancy, Ms. Kathy, Darlene, and Kim.  Then we went up to the farm with Daddy while Momma went and visited with Aunt Dah.  Aunt Dah and Margi’s flowers were beautiful.  After we picked peaches we went to Uncle Will’s house and ate pizza with Ani.  I don’t like pizza so I ate yogurt and a banana.  Douglas says I must be the only kid in the world who doesn’t like pizza, but I think he just wanted my banana.
Momma painted my nails Friday morning and my sister and I played “Broken Arm”.  Oh, I forgot.  I had to take a bath too, it wasn't very hard.  We just put a bag on my arm.
I want to say thank you to everyone who stopped by or sent a card or a little present.  Mack and Katie sent me balloons.  They also sent balloons to my little sister because she has a hard head and when she fell she hurt the groundJ.

My Cousin Colin sent a picture of a horse, I really liked that.  Mr. Tyson’s daughter called to check on me.

Nana and G-pa have also been checking on me.
Colin's Horsey Picture

Friday afternoon we went to Reynolda House and Gardens and looked at all the flowers and the museum.  My favorite thing in the house was the kitchen.  I liked the toys too.  My favorite toy was the Snow White doll.  My sister said she was mad because she didn't get to ride in a wheel barrow...that's what she calls a wheelchair.  They don't allow strollers inside, so they let me ride in a wheelchair.  They were very nice.  I even got to ride in the old elevator.
Friday night I headed to Mema’s to spend the night.  We went to a show that her neighbor was in.  She was a dancer in the show.  My arm is still doing good, but I am tired of taking it easy.

That’s all for now,

No Cast Yet UUUUUGH!

Man is Douglas Mad.  I am too.

We drove all the way to Wilkesboro and expected to get my cast and I didn’t get it.  I have to wait ten more days with the soft cast to make sure all the swelling goes down before they put a hard cast on….uggggh.
Waiting in the Dr's office
OK, after I rode the horse the next morning and went to the flea market I started feeling a little sick from the anesthesia.  It was a little nausea.  Then we went to eat lunch with Mama Cat and my family.  Daddy said that chocolate ice cream helps bones get better and that we would have to eat a lot of chocolate ice cream over the next few weeks.
Checking my soft cast
After lunch we headed back to my house so we could get things situated.  Everybody took a nap because we were sooo tired.  Dad went out for groceries and chocolate ice cream and Mema came over for dinner.
New x-rays...everything looks good
The next day Momma and Caroline went to Bible school while I stayed home to rest.  I was able to go to Bible school for an hour to see my friends.  Momma Cat came over that afternoon.  Gram brought over some cupcakes and Leapster toys for Caroline and me since we have to be calm for a few days. We took it easy and watched a movie that night.  On Wednesday I ran errands with Dad while Mom and Caroline went to Bible School.  I haven’t needed any more medicine other than basic Tylenol for the past two days.
Chocolate Ice Cream...mmmmm

Mema brought dinner over and some books.  After dinner we played Candy Land and worked in our books.  I really haven’t had any trouble sleeping.
Mema, Caroline, and Me working a puzzle
Today, after my doctor’s appointment we went to get my cousin Ani.  Boy that was fun.

More tomorrow,

Me & The Monkey
